Charcoal is a shadow beast. It sits on children's chest and stare at them. It travels around the world causing sleep paralysis. It has no associate with any other supernatural being. It always leave handprint on the bed
Appearance[]
Charcoal appears to be as dark as his name sound. It is hard to tell how it actually looks like. It always appear in darkness. It appears to have four limbs and a tail, pointy ears and sharp teeth when smiling. Its whole body is made out of shadows and half transparent.
Background[]
Shadow beast is a type of shadow creature which sits on victims chest while they asleep, if something choke them or wake them. The children who are targets are unable to move their body at all. The more the childrens are scared, the bigger it gets. Shadow creature also eats one another to grow.
Story[]
Charcoal use to be a straw animal who got buried alive by naughty children. Its soul become tainted and turn into shadow beast.
Year after year, Charcoal eats his own kind to survive. It got stronger and stronger. It grant him the ability to talk.
At some point of the timeline, he came to Jamie while he was asleep. He was sitting on his chest. Jamie awoken but was unable to move. He began to choke the breath out of him until Mrs. Bennett came in to check on Jamie. Charcoal disappeared then.
Powers and Abilities[]
Shadow beast is a very weak creature and is no exception to Charcoal. However due to year of devouring his own kind. Charcoal is consider strong in his own kind.
Paralyze Stare - As an ability possessed by all shadow creatures, it can paralyze its victim by staring at them.
Communication Skill - Charcoal appears to be the only shadow beast that can talk.
Shadow Merge - It able to merge itself with shadows and gets away easily and unharmed. It also uses this ability to sneak into houses.
